This 37th version of The Alexis Vogel System infomercial was released in first quarter of 2002 (if I remember correctly). I created this with Discreet Combustion, Edit and a little bit of 3D Studio Max.

This infomercial has a little bit of everything in it. I tried to squeeze as much of the variety as I could into this short teaser. Here are the highlights: Hollywood, Paula Abdul, Pamela Anderson, the “Gotta go right now” lady, a “Price is Right” girl, models, morphing, before and after, a booger (see details below) and happy women looking great with their new makeup.

Now for some details:
THE BOOGER: One of the testimonial ladies had a huge booger in her nose. This wasn’t a simple “lambs leg” either, it was HUGE. She was a very animated talker and used her hands and her head to tell the story. Every time she would slightly tilt her head up, it would jump out and scream at you with all its might. Let’s just say, there was a lot of “conversation” going on in the edit bay about this beautiful lady with a some major extra baggage hanging around. How did we miss that while we were filming her? I have no idea. I was able to track the “unwanted object” and paint it out successfully using Combustion. I think that was my first time to rotoscope.

MORPHING: This was my first time to morph one thing into another. I think you get to see it at least once in this tease; I morphed several befores into afters in this infomercial.

3D: The “Hollywood Theater” scene is made with 3D Studio Max. I think I actually did most of the work on a laptop, and then used my Discreet Edit system to render out the final sequence.
