I was Producer/Director/Editor/Animator on this spot. I even took part in writing the script. This was released on 01/12/2008.
This was a fun project. We shot this on a Panasonic HVX-200 with a 35MM ground glass adapter. We shot at 60fps.
We picked our model about 2 weeks in advance because she had the perfect lip shape and size. she shows up for the shoot with swollen, purple lips. She decided that since this was a lip plumper spot, she should get Botox. And to top it off, she got the Botox injections in the afternoon, the day before the shoot. We started with the other model and thankfully, we had a great makeup artist who knew how to hide a multitude of sins.
On every project I work on, I try (time permitted) to learn a new skill, or to learn a faster or better way to do something. To this point, the majority of my animations were logos, particle systems or simply revealing text or moving 2D images. The way the LipTox bottles and the photographs move is very typical for what I’m talking about. On the other hand, the animation that shows how collegen builds up in the skin, well, that was a completely new type of animation for me. Learning that, has helped me on many occasion since that time.
This was created using Discreet Edit, Combustion, Photoshop and Illustrator.
